Hi Erico,
Thanks for the quick reply, but I am intrigued. I mentioned reading your post to another Presario user, indicating venkat, but it was actually rucaro, whose correspondence with you I attach below. Comparing the CPUZ info for motherboard and CPU, they are absolutely identical with mines, so should I run with those options? Do you have any idea how his upgrade went? Anyway it does not make any sense not to be able to put at least a faster Celeron M (440)? The AIDA 32 info on the motherboard FSB, gives me the info it supports 64 bit, and , real clock 244 MHz and a bandwidth of 1955 MB/s. So chear me up, give me some hope that it might work, as I canţt afford another laptop now. Wishing for a T5300, but would it be safer to go with a T2350, or T1350, or M440? your input is critical for my decision.
Thanks.

I recommend that you purchase the upgrade processor online as cheap as you can. The T5200, T5300 and T1350 should work with your laptop for upgrades. They are reported to work with other makers laptop with the same chipset that yours has. These processors have the same FSB as your Celeron M. Anything with a higher designation number is reported to not work.

There are more even optional CPUs. Yours is a very upgradeable notebook. You chose wisely.

I have a question, I have a pavilion dv9410us, s/n cnf7221j5w, p/n ga355ua. The video card is bad, and it is integrated, therefore I need to replace the motherboard. But, I would like to upgrade to a better motherboard which has a better processor and can be upgraded to at least 4gb of ram. So my question is, is there a motherboard that I can upgrade to, or do I have to go with the stock motherboard?
What you will run into considering the age of the laptop is incompatibility to Windows 7. The only drivers available are for Vista. My recommendation is to purchase a newer notebook.
Did you know that your notebook is part of the affected models and is covered in the NVIDIA settlement?
I suggest you quickly see if they will still replace your notebook. Yesterday was the deadline.

More info needed.
Look at the base of the notebook at the barcoded sticker and post everything you see there except the serial number.
Also post the operating system that is installed.

Quick question that might have been self-explanatory by your guide. Will swapping out the HDD in an HP Laptop (specifically looking at the Envy 17) void the warranty?
I'm ready to pull the trigger on my order but I really want to swap out the 5400rpm drive for a 7200 after I get it.
