can i also change the video card on an hp pavilion g4-1025tx?

Ok.  I guess it would probably be better to have it done locally anyway  so I dont have to worry about sending it off and getting broken or lost on the way there or back.  one more question if i may,  when replacing the processor do I then also have to replace the chipset as well?  or is it possible to use the same ont thats in there and just replace the processor?  Thank You very much for your answers.  They've been very helpful.

In order to replace the chipset you would have to replace the motherboard. The chipset is soldered onto the motherboard of the notebook. That is not necessary and would not be cost effective at all.

Hi,

I have a DV6-1220EF with :

- MOTHERBOARD : 518432-001 (BIOS F.46)

- CPU : Dual Core T4200

- RAM : 4Go DDR2-800

- GPU : RADEON HD4530 512 Mo

I would like to replace my CPU with a Core 2 Duo T9600 or T9800.

Could you confirm that it's possible ?

Thanks in advance,

Olivier.

Unfortunately I have been unable to find anything other than the specifications documentation on your notebook. I cannot locate a Service & Maintence Guide for this model.

Was that you over at Tom's Hardware? 🙂

Thanks for your answer erico,

I have the PM45 chipset on my 518432-001.

I already read the "HP dv6 Maintenence & service Guide" but this guide is for all the dv6 serie and there are several different mainboards.

I wanted to be sure that T9600 or T9800 fit with the 518432-001. According to this guide, it's OK, isn't it ?

Olivier.
