HP Recommended

This is not a query, but I wanted to share my experience. OK I had an UK Deskjet [out of warranty]  USA cartridges and was currently in the Caribbean where there is no real support. Printer would not accept new cartridges, I did not know that HP had different regions in the world for their products!!!  So as I was out of warrenty I tried the HP community for help and 2 people did their best over a period of 2 weeks to try and get my printer to work with new cartridges. Everything failed and getting very frustrated . So in the end I paid for a one off support from the UK as that was were I had an account. So as brief as I can make it this is what happened ::

After calling the UK support that was followed by 14!!! international calls to UK & USA, with nobody taking responsibility being passed from pillar to post, being told i need to buy a new machine and we cant help you here! I eventually learnt that I need a level 2 support technician in the USA to sort the switch. And on my 14th call I got through to one in the USA, It took 50 mins where she logged onto my computer and eventually after a couple of go's managed the reset. And as a final nobody told me that you cant do this on a Mac it has to be on a windows machine that I had to borrow. As a global corporation a big fail all round.

So the takeaway from this is YOU CANNOT CHANGE REGIONS WITHOUT THE DIRECT SUPPORT FROM HP, also make sure your printer and computer are both on 2g network
