Officejet All-in-One 8600

For the last year I was able to print without any problem from my Samsung Galaxy 7.0 uising the printer HP Officejet All-in-One 8600. Most recently when I send something to print from my Samsung (Android) phone I get a message "Unfortunately, Print spooler has stopped working" and I can not print anything.  Now the message flashes so quickly you can't see it sometimes.  I have not been able to print from my phone since this started.

At the same time I can print without any problem, from my HP Laptop and Surface using the same WI-FI and Printer.

For now, I am bypassing this annoying printing problem by forwarding whatever I need printed from my Samsung phone to the other computes and get it printed from there.n

I also uninstalled the printer and installed a different printer on my Android.  I can sucessfully print the test page, but again, nothing else.

By the way, I have installed and enabled (and unistalled, re-installed and re-enabled severa times) the HP Print Service Plugin for Android, as well as the Hp Officejet 8600 app.

I also, run a Diagnostic Wireless Test for the printer and all os OK. No problems found.

Any suggestions as to how to solve this problem and start printing again directly from my smart phone will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Kansas

Hi @Kmcd2002,

Good Day. A warm welcome to the HP community. I reviewed the case regarding issues with printing from your Android smartphone. I will be delighted to assist you here.

Superb description, brilliant troubleshooting and terrific observations made before posting. Kudos to you for that. 🙂

For better clarity and to assist you correctly, I would require more information regarding this:

  • Did this happen after an update to your Android OS?
  • Did you try to log in as a different user and check if you can print from the phone?

You' have diagnosed the issue brilliantly by isolating the issue to the Android phone. There is a problem with the phone as the other 2 devices on the network, (a notebook and the Surface tablet) print correctly without hassles. For now, please try these steps:

  • Please perform the steps mentioned in this link: http://hp.care/2wPLi3e by a forum expert for the same issue, but for an older Android platform (Jelly Bean. Yours is Nougat)
  • The steps are relevant to your OS version also.
  • There are related threads on the Google forums page also regarding this issue: http://hp.care/2wPSGeL It is not an issue with the printer but with the phone.
  • If this does not work, then backup your important data and reset the phone to factory settings and try again by reinstalling the printer app. This should do the trick for you.
  • Check this link: http://hp.care/2xY0QmY  on how to download, install and work with HP smart app with FAQs if it has not been done already.

Please perform all these steps patiently as it is critical to resolving the issue. The trick is to remain patient, Going by your technical expertise and competence I am sure you will be able to perform these steps without breaking a sweat. 🙂

Hope this helps. Let me know how it goes.

To simply say thanks, please click the "Thumbs Up" button to give me a Kudos to appreciate my efforts to help.

If this helps, please mark this as “Accepted Solution” as it will help several others with the same issue to get it resolved without hassles.
