Hi
I've just purchased the Deskjet 3720 and am trying to:
a) enroll for the free 3 months Instant Ink replacement trial
b) to register my printer via HP Connected (https://www.hpconnected.com/uk/en/newprinter)
Both these processes require a claim code.
The process to get that is to hold down the 'Web Services' and 'Info' buttons at the same time, which prints out a sheet that's supposed to contain a claim code.
It doesn't any claim code - nor does it contain an 'hpeprint.com' email address as mentioned in help notes during the registration process ('If the printed page contains your printer's email address but not a claim code, use the text preceding "@hpeprint.com" as your claim code. For example, if your printer's email address is "4845aqua9@hpeprint.com", your claim code is "4845aqua9".')
Instead, it contains instructions to open the EWS (printer home page) with various platform dependent URLs (for Apple OS X it's http://HPXXXXYYYYYYZZ.local); and to go to the Web Services->settings section.
This section never appears properly and eventually times out with a system error (on Windows 10 it also says 'check network and try again').
As I've already successfully connected my printer to WIFI, I'm not sure what else to do here.
At any rate, all this is preventing me from registering my printer with HPConnect, and also registering for the 3 month free Instant Ink trial (that requires activation within 7 days of setting up your printer).
Any help much appreciated.

For some reason, restarting the printer resulted in it picking up the Web Services page, which I've now successfully enabled.
Consider this closed.

I get a timeout eventually showing up as a system error.
