I have been trying for many months now to get web services enabled for my HP Deskjet 3512 e-ALL-IN-ONE Printer with NO success. IF possible maybe performing a HARD printer reset to put everything back to factory default!? I can't even use a proxy setting (using Firefox on a Windows 7 system). A brand new, never used Deskjet 3512 is capable of ePrint services, but I have seen with 2 different printers like this that if ANY updates are performed you totally lose the ePrint service! I do believe I will need a very skilled tech with me on the phone with capability to take control of my system possibly, but try to get a tech on the phone is near impossible!

Hi @Kitmeister,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you're experiencing a frustrating issue with your HP Deskjet 3512 printer. Here are some steps you can take to try to resolve the problem and enable web services:
1. Check Network Connection
Ensure that your printer is properly connected to your network. Web services require a stable internet connection.
- Wireless Connection: Verify that your printer is connected to your Wi-Fi network.
- Wired Connection: If using Ethernet, ensure the cable is properly connected.
2. Update Firmware Update the firmware on an HP printer
Sometimes, outdated firmware can cause issues with enabling web services. Here’s how to update the firmware:
Download Firmware Update:
- Visit the HP Support website.
- Search for your printer model (HP Deskjet 3512).
- Go to the drivers and software section and download the latest firmware.
Install Firmware:
- Follow the instructions provided on the website to install the firmware update on your printer.
3. Enable Web Services
Try enabling web services directly from the printer’s control panel.
Access Control Panel:
- On the printer's control panel, navigate to the setup menu.
Enable Web Services:
- Look for an option related to web services or HP ePrint.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to enable web services.
4. Hard Reset the Printer
A hard reset can sometimes resolve connectivity issues. Here’s how to perform a hard reset:
Turn Off the Printer:
- Press the power button to turn off the printer.
Unplug the Power Cord:
- Disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer and from the wall outlet.
Wait:
- Wait for about 60 seconds.
Reconnect the Power Cord:
- Plug the power cord back into the printer and the wall outlet.
Turn On the Printer:
- Press the power button to turn on the printer.
5. Proxy Settings
If you need to use proxy settings, you might need to configure them on the printer or your network settings.
Printer Settings:
- Some printers allow you to enter proxy settings directly from the control panel.
- Check your printer’s manual for instructions on entering proxy settings.
Network Configuration:
- If your network requires a proxy, ensure that your computer and printer are configured to use the same proxy settings.

I hope this helps.

I have already followed EVERY step, except using a proxy server which is irrelevant where I am located, more than once! I even did a HARD reset which made no difference. I have had and used 3 HP 3512 printers and what I have found is that if and when I was to do an update of the printer's firmware, the ePrint would no longer function! IF and when the printer is brand new, never used and do NOT run any firmware updates, the ePrint function works just fine! So the problems with this model, at least, is obviously at your end with the HP ePrint servers no longer connecting to this model printer! It is also obviously impossible to roll back any firmware updates without replacing the printed circuit main board inside the printer containing the communication circuitry.
