iOS

I cannot print from my IOS anymore. It was working 2 days ago but suddenly stopped.

I have turned the printer and my iPhone off and on but still nothing.

I am trying to check the wifi setting for the printer on my phone but seem to have forgotten my password so am unable to join the network.

Any advice or suggestions are appreciated.

Hi @Shoegal88,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you have forgotten the password for your printer network, there are a few steps you can take to try to reset it.

  • Reset the printer: Many printers have a reset button that you can press and hold for a few seconds to reset the device to its default settings. This may also reset the network settings, allowing you to connect to the printer without a password.
  • Use the default password: Some printers come with a default password that can be used to access the network settings. Check the printer manual or manufacturer's website for the default password.
  • Connect with a cable: If the printer has an ethernet port, you can connect it directly to your computer with an ethernet cable. This will bypass the need for a password and allow you to configure the printer's network settings.

It's also worth noting that using a password-protected network is important for security reasons. If you are unable to reset the password or access the network, you may need to consider setting up a new network with a new password.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hi Alden4,

Thank you so much for your assistance. I did manage to obtain my password however since this issue began my iOS device will no longer recognise my wireless HP printer when I’m connected to wifi but it used to before. What can I do to fix this issue?
At the moment I have to keep going to my settings and changing devices from Wifi to my Printer then print. This is an issue because I keep forgetting to change it back 🙈

I know it’s possible for my iOS to detect the printer because it’s been set up this was for the past 4 years. Any assistance is appreciated. Many thanks!

Hi @Shoegal88,

Thank you for your response,

There are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot this issue.

  • Check your printer's wireless connection: Make sure your printer is connected to your Wi-Fi network and that it has a strong signal. You can check this by printing a network configuration page from your printer.
  • Restart your printer: Turn off your printer, wait for a few seconds, and turn it back on. This will reset the printer and may help resolve the issue.
  • Restart your iPhone: Turn off your iPhone, wait for a few seconds, and turn it back on. This will refresh the iPhone's network settings.
  • Forget the Wi-Fi network: Go to your iPhone's Wi-Fi settings and forget the Wi-Fi network that you're currently connected to. Then, reconnect to the Wi-Fi network and try to print again.
  • Update your printer's firmware: Check the HP website for any available firmware updates for your printer. Installing the latest firmware may resolve any issues that are preventing your iPhone from recognizing your printer.
  • Reinstall the HP Smart app: If you're using the HP Smart app to print from your iPhone, try uninstalling and reinstalling the app. This will ensure that you have the latest version of the app installed and may help resolve any issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
