I am able to print fine to the printer via a networked computer or an apple product via airprint. I cannot print from a moto g5+ (I have tried 2 of them). I have the hp print service installed and added the HP smart app to one of the phones. I have found a kludgy work around using the hammermill print app. I installed the latest verison of the hp print service today ver. 4.8.1-3.1.3-16-18.3.77-760. I don't know what other things to try. Help anyone?

Good day. Thanks for stopping by the HP forums. I will be glad to assist you and let’s get right to it. Great description of the issue. It is amply appreciated.
- Is it a wireless connection that connects via a router or a Wifi direct connection?
- DId it happen after a recent software or OS update on the Android devices?
- DOes it print correctly from any other device such as a Windows-based machine?
For now, let me keep you posted about a few things here:
- This printer does not support HP Smart App or HP print service plugin.
- Please check this link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-laserjet-pro-m1217nfw-multifunction-printer-series/4292048/m... (HP Printers - Mobile Printing Solutions Compatible with HP Printers)
- So it will not work. However, it supports USB on the go printing. You could use that feature.
- Follow directions from this link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-laserjet-pro-m1217nfw-multifunction-printer-series/4292048/m... (HP Printers - Printing With a USB OTG Cable (Android) and it should print.
Good luck and keep me posted about the developments. If this helps, please mark this as “Accepted Solution” as it will help several others with the same issue and give the post a Kudos for my efforts to help. Thank you and have a great week ahead. 🙂
