Hi @Micgie426,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand you want to change the print size on your HP Smart Tank 651 from your phone so a 5×7 image prints on Letter-size paper. Let’s go through a few steps to check how to do this in the HP Smart app.

Open the HP Smart app on your phone
Make sure the printer shows as Ready and Online.
Select Print Documents or Print Photos, depending on what you’re printing.

Open Print Settings before printing
After selecting your file or photo, tap Settings or the gear icon.
This is where paper size, layout, and scaling options are adjusted.

Set the paper size to Letter
In Paper Size, select Letter (8.5 × 11 in).
This ensures the printer pulls from the correct paper loaded in the tray.

Adjust layout or scaling for 5×7
Look for Layout, Resize, Scale, or Print Size options.
Choose Custom, Actual Size, or manually set the image size to 5 × 7 inches if available.

Disable “Fit to Page” or “Fill Page”
Turn off options like Fit to Page, Fill Entire Page, or Borderless.
These options force the image to expand to full Letter size instead of staying 5×7.

Check orientation
Set Portrait or Landscape to match how you want the 5×7 placed on the Letter sheet.
This affects where the image appears on the page.

Preview before printing
Use the print preview screen to confirm the image appears as a 5×7 area on a Letter page.
The rest of the page should remain blank.

Print and test with plain paper first
Print a test page on plain Letter paper before using photo paper.
This avoids wasting specialty paper while adjusting settings.

I hope this helps.
