Every time we go to print something a message pops up that says:
Check your Account. A problem has occurred with your HP account and you will be unable to print soon unless this issue is resolved.
To learn more, open the HP smart app or visit website and sign in.
I have done this and nothing shows up for me to do anything. Please help because it won’t start printing our documents until we press OK for the message to go away!

Hi @Buford7,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be happy to help you!
To be able to answer you effectively, we need some information.
Are you enrolled in the instant ink account?
Take care and have an amazing day ahead! 🚀

Hi @Buford7,
Thank you for the response.
Try these steps:
Check HP Instant Ink Enrollment:
- If you have not enrolled in HP Instant Ink, the message might be erroneously prompting you due to pending setup. Ensure you have either completed or opted out of HP Instant Ink enrollment.
- Visit the HP Instant Ink website to confirm your enrollment status.
HP Smart App Diagnostics:
- Open the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device.
- Sign in with your HP account credentials.
- Check for any notifications or messages in the app regarding your account. Follow any prompts to resolve the issues.
- Go to the Settings or Account section of the app and ensure that your printer is properly linked and your account information is up to date.
Clear Cache and Reinstall HP Smart App:
- Sometimes software glitches might cause the issue. Uninstall the HP Smart app, clear your system’s cache, and then reinstall the app.
Update Printer Firmware:
Kindly refer to this link to update your printer firmware.
I hope this helps.
