Have a very old laptop connected to HP 6968 with DIRECT-HP wireless network. In early January, I bought a new Chromebook, set it up with the HP printer, printed several pages with no problem. Took the Chromebook to Mexico for a few weeks, using it only for email and internet browsing, no printing. Returned home and Chromebook now will not print (destination printer shows error message "can't connect to printer").
I can get the printer to print a page if I leave that page, go to the known networks screen, and connect to the "DIRECT-43-HP OfficeJet Pro print " network. Then go back to the original page (that I want to print), and print it. The destination printer still shows the "can't connect to printer" error message (under the printer's name), but the page does print. Then I have to go back to the known networks screen and select the FIOS wireless network. The info for the DIRECT HP network shows "no internet" for Portal State.
