Hi @OfficeKoLay

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I understand how frustrating it feels to keep seeing “Complete printer setup” even after you’ve already reset and powered off/on your OfficeJet Pro 8025e. Thank you for sharing the details about your network and devices—it shows you’ve been thorough.

Let’s go step by step to get the printer fully set up in the HP App so you can scan documents without relying on AirPrint.

Steps to Complete Setup in HP App

Remove Old Printer Entry

  • On your Mac and iPhone, open the HP App.
  • Remove the existing OfficeJet Pro 8025e entry.
  • This clears any incomplete setup profiles.

Reconnect Printer to Wi-Fi

  • On the printer’s control panel, go to Wireless Settings > Setup Wizard.
  • Select your Wi-Fi network and enter the password.
  • Wait until the wireless icon on the printer shows solid blue.

Add Printer Freshly in HP App

  • On your iPhone, open the HP App.
  • Tap Add Printer and select the OfficeJet Pro 8025e from the list.
  • Follow the prompts until you see “Setup Complete.”
  • Repeat the same on your Mac.

Check for Firmware Updates

  • On the printer’s control panel, go to Setup > Printer Maintenance > Update Printer.
  • Install any available updates. This ensures the printer communicates correctly with the HP App.

Run Setup from Embedded Web Server (EWS)

  • Print a Network Configuration Page from the printer (Setup > Reports > Network Configuration).
  • Note the IP address.
  • Enter the IP address into a browser on your Mac.
  • Complete any pending setup steps shown in the EWS.

The “Complete printer setup” message appears when the printer is added but not fully registered in the HP App. Removing the old entry, reconnecting Wi-Fi, and re‑adding the printer usually clears it. Once setup is complete, you’ll have full access to scanning and advanced features.

Would you like me to also share how to run a scan directly from the printer’s control panel as a backup option? That way you can keep working even if the app setup takes a little longer.
