A warm welcome to HP Community!

Resetting the printer network settings may resolve the issue. Let's try these steps:

1.) Unplug your modem/router and leave it powered off.

2.) Restart your printer, from the printer control panel, Touch (right arrow), touch Setup, and then touch Network. Touch Restore Network Defaults, and then select Yes.

3.) Power off your printer

4.) Reconnect your modem/router and wait for it to re-establish its internet connection.

5.) Power on your printer.

6.) Run Wireless setup wizard on the printer to connect it back to the network.

Let me know how it goes!

This did not work. Still receiving... Invalid wireless password (WPA) entered.

I was told by HP that Officejet 8600 is not compatible with MAC OS Mojave, so this is why MAC cannot print to 8600 wirelessly.  That has nothing to do with 8600 not connecting to ARRIS router, although it recognozes it as an available and I'm entering the same PW as other wireless devices.

Additionally, if I connect ORBI to Arris, printer does connect to ORBI and if I connect MAC wirelessly to ORBI, it does print.  So, incompatibility with Mojave theory goes out the door.

Would still like to connect to Arris as this is a more secure network.  Please advise.

Updating the Arris router firmware would be a good place to start, you may refer to the router user guide for firmware upgrade instructions.

Do you have 2.4GHz and 5GHz network enabled on your Arris router?

Do you have any guest network enabled on your WiFi router?

The Arris is up to date,  Both 2.4 and 5ghz are enabled.  There is not a guest network on the router.

As per the printer specifications, HP Officejet 8600 printer is only compatible with 2.4GHz network. If the 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks has the same network name(SSID), change the network names. Once the 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks has different network names. Run wireless setup wizard on the printer and connect the printer to the 2.4GHz network.
