Do you think I'll be able to secure my old email address after I reset, get a new claim code, and finally ADD my printer to my HP Connected account?

According to the information I have, yes, you should be able to reuse a customized printer email address after you use the HP ePrint sever generated claim code to add your printer to HP Connected.

Will do, thanks. What seems somewhat  predictable is I reset it successfully but when I come to add the same email address I get an error message that reads "that email is already taken."

 

No matter. I'll give it a shot and let you know.
