Every attempt at printing with my HP Envy 4500 e-All-in-One printer results in the following error: "Instant Ink Problem. Cannot Print. Visit www.hpinstantink.com for information"

I've tried restarting both my computer and my printer, as well as replacing the ink, restoring to factory settings, reconnecting to the internet, etc.

The printer claims to be connected to the internet, however when I try to print a document from my computer or even any reports from the printer itself it produces the same error. For some reason, on the HP Connected website, it says my printer is "Offline". We've been unsubscribed from the Instant Ink service for over a year because it was absolute garbage, and it didn't seem to create any problems for us over the past year and we print very often.

Why does the HP Connected website think my printer is offline? Is there any way I can bring it back online? All of the advice that I've found has led me nowhere. I suspect my technologically deficient family members have done something that caused this, so I would like to have some advice on how to avoid this from happening again if possible.

Thanks.

Hi,

Just to clarify because it's not clear from your post (you mentioned that you have been unsubscribed for over a year) - are you currently subscribed to instant ink with an active account?

If your printer is showing as offline, you should check the wireless connection wizard on the front panel and try to reconnect to your home wifi network by re-entering your wifi password.

We are not subscribed to instant ink. I'm not sure what you mean by an "active account."

I've tried reconnecting to the wifi, but the printer is still offline.

Hi,

If you are using any old instant ink cartridges, your printer will ask that you connect to instant ink  and have an active (subscribed) account in odrer to print. Please ensure that all of the cartridges that you have installed in the printer are non-instant ink cartridges.

If you have no instant ink cartridges in the printer, you should be able to print regardless of whether your printer is online in HP connected or not.

Please fully explain  your situation.  Are you saying that you are now NOT participating in Instant Ink?

I I called them abotu this last night IF you still have a instink cartridge in your printer AND you no longer have an instaink ACTIVE account they can STOP your printer from printing. Who knew? I didn't, [edit] Anyway if you go buy a normal ink cartridge you should be fine

I used the HP Ink program for over a year.  I cancelled the program because I did not want my printer available to the network. I have replaced my HP Instant Ink Cartridges with store bought cartridges. Now EVERY time I try to print I get a message to connect my printer to the network to update status.

How do I make this error message go away permanently!
