Trying to print from Android (SAMSUNG S7) to wireless connected HP 8620 and it is inconsistent - sometimes works, sometimes not. Have installed HP Print Service Plugin and it is on.
When it does not work gives error message - "Failed to change the settings. Try again."
Any solutions from Forum?

Hi,
After dowloading the plugin, amke sure to enable it within your settings. Also try using the hp eprint app to see if that helps.

Hello. While in an email for AOL or GMAIL the same msg appears when trying to print the email. I am getting the same (message - "Failed to change the settings. Try again.") error when using HP Print Service Plugin. Turn the phone and printer on and off multiple times. Also, continually clear cashe, checked the settings and the printer shows up and is set to on. It opens the HP Print Service Plugin screen, shows the printers (Direct one and the HP OfficeJet one) with copies, paper size, etc. all setup. Then, it says "printers not available". I wait a bit then the screen appears with the Yellow Printer icon on the right side. But, then nothing on the screen below shows to print. I click on the Yellow Printer Icon then it says "Unfortunately, Print Spooler has stopped - Click OK". I can print from a file (ie. pdf). I can save the email as a file and then it will print the file. But, not while in the email apps. Which is what I want.
I installed the HP eprint app for android as was suggested. This works to print a file, document, or photo. But I still get the same problem as stated above when I try to print from within the email.
Any other suggestions?
Thanks Mrfgjr

During an attempt to print from a gmail on an android phone to a HP Officejet 6812 I get an error message that says "failure to change the settings, try again" I have the HP print service plugin on my phone and it is selected "On" in settings. I have seen a lot of forum questions on this topic and carefully followed the solutions but havent found my solution. Many of the replies are basic and classified as solved but the thread doesn't seem satisfied. Is the problem on the phone end or the printer end? The phone sees the correct printer, they both show the same wireless network as "conncted". Thank you to anyone who reads this, Joe F.

Thank you for the help. This problem is marked "solved". I followed the thread and still have the problem. I have HP print service plug in installed. It is selected "on" in settings, connections, more networks, printing. Both android phone and HP Officejet 6812 printer show connected to be on the same network. I've seen this problem posted a number of times without pin pointing the origin of th error message. Is the problem in the phone or the printer? What sttings is the software trying to change? Thanks, Joe F.

I found the solution to this problem first disable Google Cloud Printing. Next on the on your HP printer's administrative web page set tray 1Tray 1 Size: Any Size and Tray 1 Type: Any Type and set Tray 2 Size: Letter and Tray 2 Type: Plain. Next install theHP Print Service Plugin for Android turn the service on and in Settings Advanced Settings turn on Android print rendering then in Settings Discovery make sure you turn off the Wi-FY Direct Print option. The shutdown the Android Phone and reboot.
Hope it helps
