Hi,

I have a Envy Photo 7155 printer and a Google Pixel 6 Pro phone (Android).

 

I'm confused on whether or not I need both HP apps (Smart vs Service Plugin). They look the same and it seems as though they perform the same things. What's the purpose of having the two apps?

I am not 100% sure, I have them both and only installed HP smart. If I remember good HP Smart installs the HP service plugin too (or it asks you to install them both).  Install HP Smart and follow the steps. Since you already have a multifunction device HP Smart will give you way better control over the printer and features.

The HP Smart is a way more advanced app, you can print, scan, fax and copy.

The HP service plugin is for older printers it supports only printing.
