OfficeJet Pro 6978
Microsoft Windows 11

When I log into my HP Smart account online it shows 3 printers including a OfficeJet Pro 6978 that was associated with my account but broke and has been removed from the account a while ago. The other two are some functioning LaserJet printers.

The problem is when I click on Printer Options -> Manage Printer Settings, it shows the properties of one of the other two printers and I have no way to remove this long gone printer. Same on the app as well as in Chrome browser on the desktop PC. This zombie printer is stuck in my HP account forever!

To make matters worse. HP+ support seems to crash, once you manage to get past the useless virtual agent (who can literally only rehash the 3 generic topics, clearly no AI here!). It shows some error after logging in on the chat and closes all down.

Clearly there’s something wrong with my HP Smart account on the back end and no way to get in touch with a human! Would be nice to receive some help. Recreating the account with a different email and removing and re-adding the printers will surely make bad matters worse. Thanks in advance for any help
