I don't know exactly where / why this is falling apart, though it could be freaking out if you are trying to print on anything other than "Letter" or "A4" (standard paper size) for the content of the email.  Attachments (images) print only at 4x6 inches.

IF you can change the defaults, the adjustments are made in your HP Connected account where you have your printer(s) listed.

ePrint - How to and FAQ

HP Printers - Printing with HP ePrint

Section:  FAQ > Can I change print settings for an HP ePrint job?

Printing Preferences is not really used with ePrint - there are only a severely limited number of options for ePrint and many of the options in Preferences just don't apply.

Nonetheless, you should be able to bring up Printing Preferences as a normal operation (not part of ePrint).

Set the Preferences

Control Panel > icon view > Devices and Printers > Right-Click on your printer > Printing Preferences >

Tab Printing Shortcuts > Click / Highlight shortcut > Click Apply > Click OK to exit

If the printer software supports the feature, change the settings as desired, then use “Save as” to create a Custom Shortcut.

OR

Windows key + S (search for) Printers and Scanners

Left-Click on (your) Printer > Manage >

Printing Preferences

Set “preferred settings” for paper, source (tray), other settings

Optional (if / as available): Save As > enter a name for your custom shortcut

Click OK to save the preferences

Check / Adjust the Paper at the Printer Panel

Open Printer Tray, add desired paper type

Close Tray

On the printer panel, Click Modify (wording varies), set the paper size and type, Click OK

NOTE:  If the size of the envelope is not in the Drop-down list, Select Custom

And / Or

If Printing Preferences is failing, it is likely the printer software is not installed correctly (or it broke somewhere along the way).

Hint:  For best results, do not ignore the suggested Restart sequences.

Printer Software – Uninstall Existing Software

If the software is already installed and you want (need) to uninstall it:

Control Panel > icon view > Programs and Features >

Scroll down, click, and Uninstall the software

After the software is removed, Restart the computer and log in

If printer software will not uninstall, appears to be removed and then shows up again, or is otherwise not “going away” when you tell it to do so, try an Uninstaller program.

Microsoft:  Fix problems that block programs from being installed or removed

Printer Software – Lurking in the Device Manager

After uninstalling the software and the computer Restart, if the printer is still lurking about in the Device Manager, remove it.

Control Panel > icon view > Device Manager

Expand category Printers

If any printer name or “Unknown Device” is listed,

Right-Click on the printer / device > Uninstall

Expand category Imaging Devices

If any printer name or “Unknown Device” is listed,

Right-Click on the printer / device > Uninstall

Restart the computer and log in

Printer Software - Installation

NOTE:  If using USB, disconnect the USB cable between the printer and the computer before starting the installation.  Connect the cable when instructed to do so (toward the end of the installation procedure).

Download, save, and install the Full Feature Software for your Operating System version

After the software is installed, Restart the computer and log in

Video help

NOTE:  Videos may be found in one or more locations (depending on printer / software / version)

Open the printer Software and Drivers page >

Scroll down and select Related Videos > Click View All >

Find and view the relevant video
