When trying to print from iOS 18.4 to just print a simple #10 envelope, the app tells me that the file type wasn’t supported.  What gives??? If I used the standard Apple print spooler, the print job completed successfully and the printer recognized the envelope size correctly even.

Hi,

What file type are you trying to print?

May you able to open the file by opening the file within your mobile device, and then select Share > HP Smart to process the file? it is possible from your description that the file type is simply not supported to be launched by the HP Smart app directly.

I am trying to print directly within Apple’s Pages app.  Nothing special - the document is on plain paper and tried using a template from Apple too.  The old trick before printers had size/envelope forms to automatically adjust for envelopes was to cheat and use a plain paper document and just set the print area the size of the envelope and use the manual document feeder.  The web form here too wouldn’t allow me to fill in OS either because it doesn’t recognize iOS 18.4 either.  So, in some respects the app could be behind the times too and hasn’t been updated yet.

I was trying to print directly from the Apple Pages app and it’s using a standard form (#10 business envelope)
