Just purchased an HP ENVY 4520 wireless printer and set it up to print from my iPad. I then chose to Share the printer with my wife's iPad. When I try to print rom my wife's iPad, a pop up window shows the printer and the document to be printed but when I press Print, the pop up window closes but nothing prints.
The same process on my iPad works just fine.
What is the problem with sharing the printer??

Hi,
The most straight forwad way to print from your ipad & iphone is to make sure that both devices and the printer are connected to the same wifi network. Once this is complete, you'll be able to print from within the apple software using the print option (this is done using apple's inbuilt airprint technology).
You souldn't need to share the printer.

But I want to be able to print from both iPads. Both iPads are connected to the same wifi network.
The installation instructions said that of I wanted to print from a second device to the 'Share' button which sent an email to my wife's account with installation instructions.
On some occasions, after i select print from the pop up window, it closes and another window pops up showing the printer and the message 'Contacting Printer ...' but nothing else happens. After 10 minutes waiting I cancel the print

If both ipads and the printer are connected to the same wifi network, you should be able to print via airprint without issue. Try restarting your ipads if once you confirm that the printer is connected to the same wifi as your ipads, and you still have a problem.
