Hi @EasyAsACB,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

We understand that you are trying to print from your Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, and although the job appears in the queue in the HP app, the printer is not responding. We also see that you have already tried resetting the printer and re-adding it to the app.

First, we would like to confirm that the Samsung S24 Ultra is fully compatible with the HP mobile printing application. HP has recently updated the mobile application experience. The HP Smart app has been updated/replaced with the HP app, which supports Android devices, including the Samsung S24 Ultra.

Please try the following basic troubleshooting steps:

1. Restart the Printer and Phone

  1. Turn OFF the printer.
  2. Restart your Samsung S24 Ultra.
  3. Unplug the printer power cable for 60 seconds.
  4. Plug the power cable back in and turn the printer ON.

This helps refresh the network connection between the phone and printer.

2. Confirm Both Devices Are on the Same Network

Ensure:

  • Your phone is connected to your home Wi-Fi.
  • The printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
  • Avoid connecting the phone to mobile data or guest Wi-Fi while printing.

You can confirm the printer connection from the printer’s Embedded Web Server (EWS) page.

3. Clear the Print Queue in the HP App

  1. Open the HP app.
  2. Check the print queue.
  3. Cancel any pending or stuck print jobs.
  4. Close the app completely and reopen it.
  5. Send a new print job.

4. Reinstall or re-add the Printer in the HP App

  1. Install HP App: Open the HP app.
  2. Go to Printers / Add Printer.
  3. Remove the existing printer.
  4. Tap Add Printer again and reconnect the printer.

5. Print a Test Page from the Printer

If possible, print a Printer Status Report or Test Page directly from the printer’s control panel.

If the printer prints normally, the issue is likely related to the mobile app connection rather than the printer hardware.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!

Hello, I want to share my experience over the last two months with the inability to (find/install/use) the HP Smart Tank 724 printer on my Samsung S24 Ultra mobile device.

A very strange behavior, considering that the printer had always worked before.
After the failure on the S24 Ultra, I started monitoring the situation and noticed that printing—both directly or through the HP app—worked perfectly on my secondary device, the iPhone 8 Plus.

I spent these last two months discouraged, considering the possibility that a Samsung update in one of its new security patch releases might have been responsible for this issue, that said since all working on the Iphone.

Curiously, yesterday (2026/04/28) Samsung released the April 2026 security patch update for my S24Ultra.

Even without much hope, I thought to myself, “Well, maybe…” I decided to go through the whole “installation” process again, and to my surprise, it worked!  Yeah!

What I did !

Through the Embedded Web Server—meaning, the printer’s IP address—there is an option to perform a factory reset (Settings → Restore Defaults → Restore Factory Defaults).

I performed the factory reset. The printer blinked its LEDs for a few minutes and then restarted. Since I knew it would lose the Wi-Fi settings, I immediately went to the modem and pressed the button to activate the connection on the 2.4 GHz signal, and I also pressed the Wi-Fi button on the printer until the “X” appeared. At that moment, the modem and the printer communicated, the printer joined the network, and the Embedded Web Server confirmed that the factory reset was successful.

Still not satisfied, I went to https://portal.hpsmart.com and removed the printer associated with my HP account.

Then I opened the HP app—on the iPhone 8 Plus, the Smart Tank 724 was no longer there (as expected, since I had removed it from the account).

So I started the setup again through the HP app on the iPhone 8 Plus, chose the option “printer already connected to the network,” and the Smart Tank was found, added, and had its web services registered to my HP account (including Print Anywhere).

Everything was working perfectly on the iPhone.

Finally, even without much hope, I went to the S24 Ultra and first went to: Settings → Connections → More connection settings → Printing, and re-enabled the default printing option.

To my surprise, what previously showed the Smart Tank 724 grayed out (as unavailable) now appeared selectable—meaning, it was found.
I couldn’t believe it, but I immediately opened a random PDF, went to print, and the print button appeared. I tapped it to test, and the S24 Ultra informed me that the printer was requesting a certificate update. Without hesitation, I accepted—and that solved it.

Printing worked.

For good measure, I reinstalled the HP app on the S24 Ultra and logged into my account. The printer connected right away. I tested not only printing but also the scanner  and everything worked perfectly.

Everything resolved!
Amen.
