I just installed and set up my new printer. It works great from other devices but from my Mac Desktop, updated to MacOS 13.6.9 - latest version - the HP Smart app, that i was reccommended to use to print, does not show on "myFiles" any of my .pptx documents i want to print. I dont know why as i just set everything up and is all up to date. How can i print my .pptx presentations with the HP Smart app? How can i see ALL my files? without the exception of powerpoints or excel sheets?

Hi @lala1999,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you’re having trouble with file visibility in the HP Smart app on your Mac. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve the issue.
- Check File Location: Ensure that the .pptx files are located in a directory that the HP Smart app has access to. Sometimes, files stored in non-standard locations or with certain permissions might not be visible.
- Update HP Smart App: Make sure you have the latest version of the HP Smart app installed. Sometimes updates include bug fixes that resolve issues like file visibility.
- Check App Permissions: Verify that HP Smart has the necessary permissions to access your files. Go to System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy tab. Under Files and Folders, ensure that HP Smart is listed and has permission to access your documents.
- Use "Open With": As a workaround, you can try opening the .pptx file with another application (such as Microsoft PowerPoint or Keynote) and then use the print functionality within that application to print the presentation.
- Use Print Dialog: Open the .pptx file in its native application, go to File > Print, and then select your HP printer from the list. This method bypasses the HP Smart app and might help you print the document.
- Reinstall HP Smart: If the above steps don't work, try uninstalling and then reinstalling the HP Smart app. This can sometimes resolve issues with app functionality.
- Check for File Compatibility: Make sure that the .pptx files are not corrupted and are compatible with the HP Smart app. Try opening and printing a different .pptx file to see if the issue persists.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
