HP Envy 5052
iOS 12 - 12.0.1

Hello,

My printer, HP Envy 5052, keeps giving me an error message: “Not enough memory to complete operation” when I try printing wirelessly from my iPhone 8 Plus. I tried going through settings to clear memory but I don’t see an option. How do I resolve this?

Thank you!

@Sera10,

Thank you for reaching out to the HP Support community!

  • Are you able to make a copy from the printer?
  • Are you using any application to print like HP Smart app or are you using the AirPrint feature to print?
  • Is the printer connected through a WiFi Router or are you using the printer's WiFi Direct feature?

Let's try these steps:

Step 1: Restart the iPhone and the Printer

  • (If the printer is on a WiFi network) Turn off the Wifi Router, wait for 60 seconds, turn it back on.
  • Turn off the Printer, wait for 60 seconds, turn it back on
  • Restart the iPhone.
  • Try to print.
  • If the issue persists, proceed to the next step.

Step 2: Update the iPhone and printer

  • Update iOS to the most recent version.

    • From your mobile device, Go to Settings > General > Software Update.

    • Your device automatically searches for the latest iOS update.

    • If an update is available, touch Download and Install, and then follow the on-screen instructions to install the update.

    • If no update is available, continue to the next step.

  • Update the Printer Firmware
    • Refer to this link to update the printer firmware

After the update is complete, try to print.
