Hi @Mary2213
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
No worries! Let’s break it down in simple terms. The "not enough memory" message on your iPad usually means it’s struggling to handle the printing task because it’s running out of temporary working space (not storage space for photos or apps).
Here’s how you can fix it:
Close Other Apps:
- Double-tap the Home button (or swipe up from the bottom of the screen if your iPad doesn’t have a Home button).
- Swipe up on all the open apps to close them. This frees up memory for printing.
Restart Your iPad:
- Hold down the power button until you see the "slide to power off" option.
- Slide it to turn off your iPad, wait a few seconds, then turn it back on. This refreshes the system.
Check the File Size:
- If you’re trying to print something very large (like a high-resolution photo or a big document), it might be too much for the iPad to handle. Try printing a smaller file to see if it works.
Update Your iPad and Printer Software:
- Go to Settings > General > Software Update on your iPad to make sure it’s running the latest version.
- Check your printer’s app or website for updates to its software.
Use the Printer’s App:
- Many printers have their own apps (like HP Smart or Epson iPrint). Download the app for your printer from the App Store and try printing through it.
Simplify the Print Job:
- If you’re printing a webpage, try saving it as a PDF or screenshot and print that instead. This reduces the complexity of the task.
