HP DeskJet 3630 All-in-One Printer
Chrome OS

Hello.  I downloaded the HP Advance printer app for my HP printer but it asks for the Mobile connector url code.  I have searched the HP printer set up and manual but cannot locate it.  I have a Samsung mobile.  Can you help please?  I am unable to print.

Thank you Zoey.  I did try to follow your guide but only got as far as downloading the correct HP Smart Appt - too complex for me.  The printer Wifi light was still blinking and seemingly nothing I could do to reconnect.  I needed to be talked through so called one of your support team - brilliant.  My  printer's wifi light is now on so is connected to your services.  I am now also able to print from my mobile.

@Jayneeog, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your Printing from Chrome OS to HP DeskJet 3630!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

For using your HP DeskJet 3630 with Chrome OS, you'll need to follow specific steps for setting up your printer connection, especially if you're using Samsung mobile devices. Here's a general guide:

Ensure Your Printer is Powered On: Make sure your HP DeskJet 3630 is turned on and connected to the same network as your Chromebook.

Connect Printer to Network: Make sure the printer is connected and properly set up on your local network. You may need to use SyncThru™ Web Service or similar for network configurations.

Using Google Cloud Print (if applicable): Registration for Google Cloud Print can be done if supported (Note: Google Cloud Print has been deprecated, check for alternative methods):

  • Register from the Chrome Browser:
    • Ensure the printer is turned on and connected to the network.
    • Sign in to your Google account.
    • Enter your printer's IP address in the Chrome browser.
    • Follow the instructions to complete setup.

Download HP Smart App: Instead of the HP Advance app, consider using the HP Smart app:

Mobile Connector URL for Samsung Devices

If you are required to input a Mobile connector URL, you may be looking to connect via PrinterOn service or similar. Here's what you should do:

Retrieve Connection Information:

  • Launch a web browser and log into the PrinterOn web admin portal at www.printeron.com/administrators.
  • Locate your printer listing and it will show options for QR codes, printer email addresses, and Web Print Portal URLs.

Using QR Codes for Mobile Print:

  • In the PrinterOn web admin portal, locate the QR code for the printer and use the QR code scanner on your mobile application.

Mobile Print Workflow:

  • Download the PrinterOn app for Android.
  • Configure it using the QR code displayed by the admin portal.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
