Hi @puddlejumper1,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be glad to help you!
Print from your Amazon Fire device to your HP printer over a network, or using the Wi-Fi Direct connection.
Step 1: Check the requirements
Before you print, make sure the printer and your Amazon Fire device meet the following requirements:
The printer hardware is set up.
An Amazon Fire device running Fire OS 5.0 - 5.9.
The printer is connected to a wireless or wired (Ethernet) network with an active Internet connection.
The Amazon Fire device connected to the same network as your printer.
Step 2: Print from your device
Print photos, documents, emails, or webpages from your Amazon Fire device.
Open the item you want to print, and then tap Print.
A print preview screen displays.

Tap the down arrow to view printers available on the network, and then select your printer:
To print over a network, select HP [your printer model name] from the list of available printers.
To print over Wi-Fi Direct, select DIRECT-xx-HP [your printer model name] from the list of available printers.
Tap the down arrow to select the paper size of the paper loaded in your printer and make changes to the print settings as needed.
