Hi @PAm2030,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I can certainly help you with setting up or retrieving your HP printer's Wi-Fi password. Please follow these steps to find or change your Wi-Fi password for your HP printer.

  • Check the Printer Display (if available): Some HP printers with touchscreens or displays allow you to check the Wi-Fi password directly on the printer. Navigate to the wireless settings or network settings on your printer, and you may find the password there.
  • Check the Router Label: Typically, the default Wi-Fi password (also known as the WPA key or passphrase) is printed on a label on the back or bottom of your Wi-Fi router. It might be labeled as "WPA key," "Wi-Fi password," or something similar. If you haven't changed it from the default, this is the password you should use.
  • Log into Your Router's Web Interface: You can access your router's web interface using a web browser. Open a web browser and enter your router's IP address (common ones are 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1) into the address bar. You'll need to log in with your router's username and password, which is often found on the router or in the manual. Once logged in, you can navigate to the wireless settings section to view or change the Wi-Fi password.
  • Use the HP Smart App: If you have the HP Smart app installed on your computer or mobile device, you can check or change your printer's Wi-Fi settings through the app. Open the app, select your printer, and navigate to the Wi-Fi or network settings to view or update the password.
  • Reset Your Printer: If you've forgotten your printer's password and can't find it through the methods mentioned above, you can reset your printer's network settings to factory defaults. This will erase all existing network settings, so be prepared to reconfigure the printer. Instructions for resetting your specific HP printer model can usually be found in the printer's manual or on HP's support website.

Please note that changing the Wi-Fi password for your printer might require you to reconfigure it to connect to the new network.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
