HP ENVY 7640
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have not been able to print via my secure wireless network for over a month now. Printer USB connection works fine. Today, I typed in the Newtwork IP address for the printer into my web browser, then went to the TOOLS menu, and clicked on "Print Test Page" and was able to sucessfully print the test page wirelessly. (I unplugged the USB connection before doing this).

I am not able to print anything from a number of different computers via my wireless network. The problem is not software application specific as I have tried to print through a number of different programs.

Does anyone have any ideas on what to do next?

Run the tool and let me know what happens.

@CVS2,

  • Do you get any error messages when you try to print?
  • Are the printer and the PC connected on the same network?
  • Do you have any security software or antivirus installed on your PCs?

Try running the HP Print and Scan Doctor.

  • Download HP Print and Scan Doctor.
  • Run HPPSdr.exe from the download location on your computer.
  • Once HP Print and Scan Doctor is open, click Start, and then choose your printer.
    • If your printer is not listed, turn it on and click Retry.
    • If there is a connection problem, follow the instructions in the tool.

Let me know if this information helps or if you need any further assistance.

Thank you for your input. I can answer the 1st 3 questions that you asked

1. When I go to print wirelesly from any of 3 different computers - I 1st see a message taht say "printing page 1 of 1 etc, then a second message appears that says "printer not ready" and nothing prints (the computer is turned on and not asleep). I checked the printer que and there are no jobs pending.

2. I use only Windows Defender on one computer. The other 2 computers use Comodo Anti Virus free version. I cannot print from any of them. I had disbabled Windows Defender on one computer and tried to print - nothing happens other than the error message Per item 1 above.

3. The printer and each of the computers show as connected on my Linksys Router software (2.4GHz) and signal strengh shown on the printer and HP Network Confiuration Page is very strong - 5

4. I did notice that on the Linksys software, it shows a different IP address for the HP  printer vs the IP address that is shown on the HP Network configuration page (the last 3 digets are different). Is this a problem?

I will download the HP print and scan Dr later today and let you know the results
