Hi All

I print via WiFi. When I start the printer I can print now worries.

When I reconnect my notebook to the wifi network where the printer is hooked up with, the printer asks me for a pin and I cant print the documents.

When I restart the printer the documents will be printed.

How can I shut down the requirement for the pin?

Thanks, Martin

Do you have Wireless Direct enabled in the printer? If you do, disable it.

What SSIDs are you connecting to? Do you have a router you are using? Are you connecting to the Printers SSID also?

Hi Dean

Thanks for your reply. The printer connects via wifi to the router. The notebook connects to the same router via network cable.

When I run the Windows 10 "Printer add wizard" it showed me the IP address of the printer and I connected to it that way.  What do you mean with SSID?

Thanks

Martin

The SSID is your network name in the router that you connect your computer to. You have to connect your printer to your routers SSID with the correct password.

Hi Dean

Now I understand. Yes, I connected to the routers SSID and used the correct password.

Otherwise I would not be able to print when I restart the printer?

The printer asks me for a PIN for the printer, not for the connection to the router.

And that only after I reconnected the notebook to the router.

It looks like the printer acknowledges the devices connected to the router after starting the printer.

When I reconnect the notebook the printer wants a PIN before he spits out the documents.

Two weeks ago I had a HP LaserJet Pro 400 M475dw with the same connectivity and it worked like a charm.

How can I stop this?

Thanks for any help.

Hi Dean

I wanted to change the wifi recognition setting in the menu of the printer and realized that most of the menus carried a padlock symbol.

I then found a description on how to "truly" factory reset the printer (Press "return" 4 times). After setting up the printer everything worked fine. I must have changed "something" in the printer settings before and putting to many restrictions on the printer.

It all works fine now. Thanks for your help!
