Paper Size Selection availability on iPhone 13

Using the Notes App on iPhone, there is no way to change the paper size from Legal - it is the only choice.  There is only Letter sized paper loaded in the 8720 Pro. It will print, but I'd like to select the appropriate size for positioning control.  I can select the correct size in the app on my Macbook and print correctly, but when the same document is opened on iPhone the paper selection quickly switches back to Legal.  Some documents do have Letter as the only selection, but not all.  Why don't I get a selection  option on iPhone.  I've done the suggestions from the Apple Community, and failing those the last suggestion was to try the printer manufacturer.

Unfortunately, the "change the paper size / type" controls for the mobile devices are not built into the application.

Adjust the settings before you open the content to be printed.

Adjust the Paper Size / Paper Type settings in the Embedded Web Server (EWS)

OR

Adjust the Paper Size / Type settings on the printer control panel

EWS is available from either your Browser or from within the HP Smart Application

NOTES

• EWS is available on many network connected printers.
• Laser Printers - Options and Settings - availability and location - are likely (and frequently) different.

If EWS is supported on your printer,

Use the Embedded Web Server (EWS) to view / configure your printer.

No Size?  If the size of the Paper Size is not included in the Drop-down list, Select Custom

Copy dislikes mismatched content / paper size and type.  If / As available,  Check / Update Copy settings  in EWS > Copy > Settings > Copy Defaults

EWS – Browser

Open your favorite browser > type / enter Printer IP address into URL / Address bar

Tab Settings > Preferences > Tray and Paper Management

Model Dependent:  Check the Advanced section (at the bottom of the Tray and Paper Management menu)

Click Apply to save changes

EWS - HP Smart for Mobile - iOS / iPadOS

Reminder: The EWS Tray and Paper settings must be updated before you open the object to be printed.

Open HP Smart (for mobile)

Open Settings wheel

Open Add / Set Up a Printer 

Scroll down, Click, Tray and Paper

Model Dependent:  Check / Adjust settings in Advanced

Click Apply to save changes

Check / Adjust / Retain the Paper at the Printer Display Panel

Open Printer Tray,

NOTE

If you are having trouble with getting the printer to accept (new) paper,

Remove the stack of paper from the tray

Lightly flex (do not fan) the paper to separate the single sheets

Re-stack together so the edges match along all sides

Return the paper to the tray

Wait a few seconds

Close Tray

IF applicable for your printer:

On the Printer Control Display Panel,

Click Modify / Change / No-Yes (wording varies), adjust the paper size and type, Click OK

No Size?  If the size of the Paper Size is not in the Drop-down list, Select Custom

Note:  Not all printers allow selection of “Custom”
