I need figuring out how i can change or reset the password/passcode to my printer, I have the application on my device, but i need the password to connect to it so i can ”access” the printer. I reset the network ad cables multiple times and it still doesn’t work.

Hi @hxlxn_dnd,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are to reset the password or access your HP LaserJet Pro MFP M148fdw printer, you can try the following steps:
1. Factory Reset the Printer:
This will reset the printer’s settings, including any passwords.
- Step 1: On the printer's control panel, press the "Setup" button (it looks like a gear icon).
- Step 2: Scroll through the menu and select "Service".
- Step 3: Find and select "Restore Defaults". This will reset the printer to its factory settings, including the password.
After the reset, the default admin password for the printer might be either:
- blank (leave the password field empty) or
- admin
2. Access the Printer's Embedded Web Server (EWS): Use the HP printer Embedded Web Server (EWS)
If your printer is connected to the network but you don’t know the password, try accessing the printer's Embedded Web Server (EWS) to reset the password.
- Step 1: Find the printer's IP address. You can get this by printing a configuration page from the printer’s control panel (go to Network Setup > Print Report).
- Step 2: Open a web browser on your iOS device and type the printer’s IP address into the URL bar.
- Step 3: Log in to the EWS using the default credentials (usually admin with a blank password or admin as both username and password).
- Step 4: Go to Security or Administrator Settings and reset the password from there.
3. HP Smart App:
If you're using the HP Smart app on your iOS device, you may not need the password after resetting the printer. Try removing the printer from the app and re-adding it after resetting the network settings.

I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
