Hello,

I used to be able to resize my photos and docs before printing but can't seem to do so anymore... I see no option for re sizing. Also, by default, documents would print to size, now I only have to option to fill the page or adapt to page... I use android.

Hi @Alizeea,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thank you for sharing the screenshot. It helps clarify the situation. Here’s what’s happening:

What I See in Your Screenshot

  • You’re in the HP Smart app on Android.
  • The preview shows a small image in the top-left corner of an A4 page.
  • At the bottom, options include:
    • Printer: HP DeskJet 2700 series
    • Copies: 1
    • Paper format: ISO A4
  • There’s no visible option for resizing, only “Fill the page” or “Adapt to page.”

Why Resize Options Disappeared

HP App recently simplified its Android interface. The older “Resize” or “Scale” slider was removed in favor of:

  • Fill Page (stretches image to full page)
  • Adapt to Page (maintains aspect ratio but fits within page)

This change means you can’t manually set custom scaling from the app anymore.

Workarounds

  1. Use “Fill Page” or “Adapt to Page”
    • Fill Page = full coverage (may crop)
    • Adapt to Page = keeps proportions (may leave white margins)

  2. Resize Before Printing
    • Open the photo/document in an editor (Google Photos, Gallery, or a PDF editor).
    • Adjust size or crop as needed.
    • Then print via the HP App.

  3. Print from Another App
    • Some apps (like Google Photos or Adobe Acrobat) still allow custom scaling before sending to the HP App.

  4. Use HP App Advanced Settings
    • Tap the three-line menu (top right in your screenshot).
    • Look for Print SettingsLayoutFit to Page or Actual Size (options vary by version).

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
