Hi @Heymare66,
Thanks for stopping by the HP community. A very good day to you. I reviewed the post regarding assistance with two-sided printing from your MAC. I will be delighted to assist you here.
Superb description and stupendous diagnosis of the issue before posting. Kudos to you for that. 🙂
For better clarity and to assist you better I would require more information regarding this:
- Did you check the printer settings?
For now try all the relevant steps from this link: http://hp.care/2BVbMo3 (HP Printers - How to Print on Both Sides of the Paper (Mac) (Duplexing)) there is an associated video on how to do it.
- How do I enable the Two-Sided print setting if my printer supports it?
- How do I turn off duplex printing?
Also, check the printer settings from this link: http://hp.care/2BWvi3w (HP Printers - Print Driver Settings Guide (Mac)) then check the option “Layout and formatting settings”
This should do the trick for you.
Hope this helps. Let me know how this goes. I genuinely hope the issue gets resolved without hassles and the unit works great.
To simply say thanks, please click the "Thumbs Up" button to give me a Kudos to appreciate my efforts to help. If this helps, please mark this as “Accepted Solution” as it will help several others with the same issue to get it resolved without hassles.
Take care now and have a terrific week ahead. 🙂

Thank you, David for responding. I greatly appreciate it. I ended up Googling a solution. I DID watch the video, as well. (I had NO IDEA) there is a "secret menu" on my actual printer!
What WASN'T on the explanation in ANY of the directions of installing the duplexor is that once it IS connected, (which I actually did, but didn't know it) is that the checkbox for the duplexor DOESN'T show up again once it's connected, as it already is!
The problem I noticed was that if I print a NON-Word or Excel document, the two-sided check box DOES appear. But to print a two-sided Word or Excel document using the duplexer, I have to click on COPIES AND PAGES and change it to LAYOUT, then click on TWO-SIDED copy, then click on LONG-EDGE or SHORT-EDGE binding, then save it as a PRESET.
But thank you for your response.
