Hi @Liz30538 ,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP DeskJet 4120e All-In-One Printer is not waking up from sleep mode when you try to print from your iPad, you can try the following steps to troubleshoot the issue:
Check Power Connection:
- Ensure that the printer is properly connected to a power source and turned on. Verify that there are no power issues, such as a tripped circuit breaker or a loose power cable.
Printer Display:
- If the printer has a control panel, try touching the display to wake it up. Some printers have a dedicated power button that you can press to wake up the device.
Print Queue on iPad:
- Check the print queue on your iPad to make sure that there are no pending print jobs that might be causing the printer to remain in sleep mode.
Restart Printer:
- Turn off the printer, wait for a few seconds, and then turn it back on. This can sometimes resolve connectivity or sleep mode issues.
Reconnect to Wi-Fi:
- Ensure that your printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your iPad. If there are connectivity issues, try reconnecting the printer to the Wi-Fi network.
Update Printer Firmware:
- Check if there is a firmware update available for your printer. Manufacturers often release updates to address issues and improve performance. You can usually find firmware updates on the HP support website.
Check Printer Settings:
- Review the printer settings to see if there are any energy-saving or sleep mode settings that might be causing the issue. Adjust the settings as needed.
Reset Network Settings on iPad:
- If the issue persists, you can try resetting the network settings on your iPad. This can sometimes resolve connectivity issues. Note that this will reset Wi-Fi passwords and other network-related settings on your iPad.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
