Hi @Jackiepond

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I understand your concern. Based on the information you shared, the message itself is not necessarily a scam.

When HP Web Services or HP ePrint is enabled on supported printers, the printer is assigned its own email address so documents can be printed by email. HP documentation states that enabling Web Services can generate a printer email address and connect the printer to HP Connected/HP ePrint services.

The HP documentation also references HP Connected as part of HP Web Services setup and notes that enabling Web Services connects the printer to HP Connected services.

A few things to check:

  1. If the notification appeared directly on the printer control panel or within the HP App, it is more likely to be a legitimate HP Web Services message.
  2. If you received it in an email, verify that the sender is from an HP domain and avoid clicking links until verified.
  3. The warning you're seeing when visiting hpconnected.com may be because that site has been transitioned or redirected in many regions, and modern browsers can flag older pages or certificate issues. This alone does not confirm a scam.

Regarding your inability to print today:

  • The printing issue may be unrelated to the Web Services message.
  • Web Services or ePrint being enabled should not normally stop local printing.

Could you share:

  • Your HP printer model?
  • Whether the message appeared on the printer screen, in the HP App, or in an email?
  • Any error message shown when you try to print?

That will help determine whether this is simply a Web Services notification or if there is a separate printer connectivity issue.

Take care, and have an amazing day!
