Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan

Hi,

The problem is occuring in two different phases of the printing process.

One:

I click print, and the printing window opens up on my computer, it says "ready to print," then it says:

1. looking for printer

2. connecting to printer

3. printing

Then it says "Printing - The printer is in use", and it stops there, not printing.

During this time, no sign of anything happening on the printer screen. It's on regular home screen.

I tried turning my printer off and then back on, unplugging it, and restarting it including removing the ink cartidges and putting them back on (as per the answers to one of the questions on this forum). No change.

Two:

Twice in my continued attempts to print, the job finally went to the printer, and it started printing, then in the middle of printing a page (it had already printed half of it), it stopped, and the printer screen said "printing cancelled." And the icon kept rotating for a bit on the printer screen with "printing cancelled." Then it finally stopped and went back to home screen mode. The printing job wasn't completed.

Then when i try printing again, i go back to "printer in use" (described above).

This is all using a wireless internet connection.

I tried scanning something to see if it will work connecting and sending the scan (wirelessly) to my email, it worked fine.

Help!

Thank you.
