I have been on the phone all. day. long. This all started the day the time changed. HP said this has been happening and you just simply need to change the time on your printer and then shut down the computer and turn it back on. That didn't work for my printer. Only Instant Ink has a problem connecting. I can print and do all of business just not Instant Ink. Instant Ink did their best to fix it today. They narrowed it down to my router. Saying that my internet router has a problem....long story short here....I needed to call my internet provider and ask them to unblock ports so my printer updates with the router properly.  After I print anything I get the (Instaink will block your printer from printing if you do not connect Instaink to your printer) message....My printer is also clearly online and connected. Another error I get is "THE PRINTER COULD NOT CONNECT TO THE INTERNET. IF YOUR NETWORK DOES NOT USE A PROXY SERVER, TRY TURNING THE PRINTER OFF AND THEN ON AGAIN. IF YOUR NETWORK USES A PROXY SERVER, TOUCH SET PROXY, AND THEN TRY AGAIN. IF YOU ARE STILL UNABLE TO CONNECT, CONTACT YOUR INTERNET SERVICE PROVIDER OR YOUR ADMINISTRATOR." I have no idea what this is.

A warm welcome to HP forums! This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips to your technical queries.

It sounds like the printer is not able to connect to web services. Most of the web services connectivity issues can be resolved by assigning a manual IP and Google DNS for the printer. Here is how to do it:

Please ensure the printer is up-to-date with its firmware. If you are unsure, you may use the steps available here to install the latest firmware update.

Once you are up-to-date with the firmware, please set a manual IP address and manual DNS servers for the printer. The steps on how to set a manual IP address can be found here.

For the DNS servers please use 8.8.8.8 for the Manual Preferred DNS Server and 8.8.4.4 for the Alternate DNS server. These are Google’s public DNS servers.

If the issue persists, try these steps.

Let me know how it goes!
