I just got a new IPad and when I try to connect through WiFi like my old one(which did it automatically as it knew the pw from original install) It asks for the password and I apparently don’t know it.  Ive tried several that I use. Checked my password book. No luck. How can I change my password. It doesn’t give me that option anywhere

A warm welcome to HP Community!

I believe it's prompting for the printers Wi-Fi direct password, the Wi-Fi direct password should be available on the Wi-Fi Direct information report. Let's try these steps:

1.) On your printer control panel, check if the Wi-Fi Direct light is on. If the Wi-Fi Direct light on the printer control panel is off or blinking, press the Wi-Fi Direct button once. The light will stop blinking and stay on.

2.) Press the Information button  to print a report that includes the Wi-Fi Direct name and password.

Refer steps below "Setting up Wi-Fi Direct (Apple iPhone and iPad)" from this document.

You may also use HP Smart App and and HP Auto wireless connect feature to connect the printer to your home wireless network. Here is how to do it:
1.) On the printer control panel, press and hold the Wireless button https://support.hp.com/doc-images/162/c02131772.gif and the Cancel button https://support.hp.com/doc-images/824/c01623874.gif at the same time for 5 seconds. (This step will restore default wireless settings on the printer and enable Auto Wireless connect. Immediately continue to the next step to install the software. You have approximately 120 minutes to complete the software setup using the HP auto wireless connect feature.)

2.) Download and install HP Smart App on your iPad from here.

3.) Open HP Smart App and follow the onscreen instructions to connect the printer to a wireless network.

Refer to this video for detailed instructions.

Let me know how it goes!

Senan 6806. I must be  Explaining this wrong. The printer is connected to WiFi  when I try to connect the iPad to the printer through Settings then WiFi it is asking for a password and It is NOT my WiFi PW as I’ve already tried that. It’s like when you go to a friends or someplace with WiFi in order to join you need a PW.   It’s like when you try to join a WiFi acct there is a little padlock sign. Meaning you need a PW. That’s what I get when I go into to WiFi  I get a list of accts  to join and 2 of them are mine my WiFi and  my Direct-F5-HP DeskJet 3630 series. When click on it It ask for PW. I cant figure out what it is. Ive tried all my known PWs. I need to somehow change  whatever the PW is to a new. But there is no where to do that

It's the printers WiFi direct password, the Wi-Fi direct password is  available on the Wi-Fi Direct information report. You may use the following steps to print the Wi-Fi Direct information report:
