Help I have a interesting problem.
I have a new officejet pro 9125e. I have the option to print 2 sided on all my devices (laptops, desktops) except my ipads and iphones. There is no option to select 2 sided. The printer is set up as a wired network printer with WiFi off. this is a problem.
Here is the interesting part. I also have an officejet pro 9015e that is set up as a wired network printer with WiFi off. I have the option to print 2 sided on all my devices, including my iphones and ipads. Why can I print 2 sided on the old printer with my Iphones and Ipads, but not the new. one.
How do I fix this.
Thanks,

Hi @Bigfoot62,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand the issue of not being able to print double-sided from your iPads and iPhones with the HP OfficeJet Pro 9125e,
here are some steps and suggestions:
Check Printer Settings on the Printer's Embedded Web Server (EWS)
Access the EWS:
- Find the IP address of your printer. You can usually find this on the printer’s display screen under network settings.
- Open a web browser on your iPhone or iPad and type in the IP address of the printer.
Enable Duplex Printing:
- Navigate to the printer settings or preferences section.
- Ensure that duplex printing is enabled for all devices.
Update Firmware Update the firmware on an HP printer
- Check for Firmware Updates:
- Ensure your printer firmware is up-to-date. An outdated firmware might cause compatibility issues with iOS devices.
Update Printer Drivers
- Check for Driver Updates:
- Make sure your iPhone or iPad is using the most recent AirPrint driver. Although iOS devices use AirPrint, there can be updates that improve functionality with newer printers.
Print from Different Apps
- Test Different Apps:
- Try printing from different apps to see if the duplex option appears. Sometimes, certain apps may not fully support all printer features.
Use the HP Smart App
- HP Smart App:
- Download the HP Smart App from the App Store.
- Add your printer to the app and try printing through it. The app often provides more control over printer settings than the default print dialog in iOS.
iOS Version
- Update iOS:
- Ensure your iPhone and iPad are running the latest version of iOS. Sometimes, updates include improvements to AirPrint functionality.
Compare Settings with OfficeJet Pro 9015e
- Compare Settings:
- Since the OfficeJet Pro 9015e works fine with duplex printing on your iOS devices, compare its settings with the 9125e. Look for any differences in network settings, printer preferences, or AirPrint settings.
Reset Network Settings
- Reset Network Settings:
- As a last resort, consider resetting the network settings on the 9125e and reconfiguring it. Sometimes, a fresh network setup can resolve strange issues.

I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Your Info was helpful. In the end I found out that the only way for mobile devices (ipads/iphones) to print double sided is you have to set up the printer using wifi thru the HP Smart App.
Thanks for your help
