Hi @Gran44,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
It appears that you are facing an issue with the default paper size setting on your HP app when attempting to print from your iPad. Here are potential steps and tips you can try to address this issue:
Check Paper Size Settings:
- Open the HP app on your iPad.
- Navigate to the "Printer Settings" or “Print Setup” menu.
- Look for options to set or adjust the paper size. Ensure that it is set to the correct size required by your printer and photo paper. For HP printers, this is typically 2x3 inches, but the app might default to other sizes like 4x5.
Update the HP App:
- Make sure your app is updated to the latest version.
- Visit the App Store, search for the HP app, and update it if necessary.
- An updated app might include bug fixes or improvements that could resolve the issue.
Firmware Update:
- Check for any available firmware updates for your HP printer via the app.
- Updating the firmware might correct any discrepancies between the app and the printer settings. Update the firmware on an HP printer | HP® Support.
Printer Defaults:
- The app’s default paper size setting might not match the printer's. Ensure your printer settings are configured correctly and align with the app settings.
Reinstall the App:
- As a last resort, uninstalling and reinstalling the app could help clear any cached data causing the paper size mismatch.
I hope this will help.
Take care and have a good day.
