Hi @Woody471,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your printer is pausing for a long time before printing from your iPad Pro and sometimes stops halfway through the page and ejects the paper. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.

Check Wi-Fi connection stability
Make sure both the printer and the iPad are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
Weak or unstable Wi-Fi can cause long delays or interrupted print jobs.

Restart the printer, router, and iPad
Turn off the printer and unplug the router for 60 seconds.
Restart the iPad, then power everything back on to refresh the connection.

Confirm AirPrint is being used
When printing from the iPad, ensure the selected printer shows “AirPrint.”
Using a different or outdated print service can cause delays or incomplete prints.

Check paper and ink/toner levels
Low ink or toner can cause the printer to pause or stop mid-page.
Reload plain paper and make sure there are no jams or misfeeds.

Cancel stuck print jobs
Open the printer queue from the printer screen or app and cancel all pending jobs.
A stuck job can delay new prints or cause partial printing.

Update printer firmware
Open the HP Smart app and check for firmware updates.
Firmware updates often fix slow printing and communication issues with iOS devices.

Try printing a printer self-test page
Print a test page directly from the printer control panel.
If this prints normally, the issue is likely related to the iPad or network rather than the printer.

Reduce document complexity
Large images or PDFs can take longer to process and may stop mid-print.
Try printing a simpler document to compare behavior.

Move the printer closer to the router
Distance or interference can cause data to drop mid-print.
A stronger signal helps prevent pauses and incomplete pages.

I hope this helps.
