My printer is an HP DeskJet 2734e

i am having problems trying to print from

email using AirPrint. I have reset modem, printer, gone offline and back to internet, turned my iPhone and tablet off and back on. I still get the notice that my printer cannot be found. Is it a problem because ink might be low? Will that cause no printing to happen?

Hi @Mary2213

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thanks for the detailed rundown—you’ve already done a lot of the right troubleshooting steps. Based on your description and HP’s official guidance, here’s what’s likely going on with your HP DeskJet 2734e and AirPrint issues:

Is Low Ink the Problem?

No—low ink will not prevent AirPrint from detecting the printer. Even if the printer is out of ink, it should still appear as available on your iPhone or tablet. The issue is almost certainly network-related or AirPrint configuration, not ink level.

What You Should Try Next

1. Confirm Printer Is on the Same Wi-Fi Network

  • Make sure your iPhone/tablet and printer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
  • On the printer, press the Wireless button to check connection status.
  • If the light is blinking, it’s not connected—run the Wireless Setup Wizard from the printer’s control panel or use the HP Smart app to reconnect.

2. Restore Wi-Fi Setup Mode

  • If the printer isn’t showing up, reset its Wi-Fi setup:
    • Press and hold the Wireless and Cancel buttons together for 5 seconds.
    • This restores Wi-Fi setup mode (the wireless light should start blinking).
    • Use the HP Smart app to reconnect the printer to your network.

3. Enable AirPrint

  • Access the printer’s Embedded Web Server (EWS):
    • Find the printer’s IP address (via HP Smart app or your router).
    • Enter it in a browser (e.g., http://192.168.1.105).
    • Go to Settings > Network > AirPrint and ensure it’s enabled.

4. Restart Everything in Order

  • Power off your router, printer, and iPhone/tablet.
  • Turn on the router first, wait 2 minutes.
  • Then turn on the printer, wait for it to connect.
  • Finally, turn on your iPhone/tablet and try printing again.

5. Try Printing from HP Smart App

  • If AirPrint still fails, try printing from the HP Smart app.
  • If it works there, the issue is isolated to AirPrint and may need a firmware update.

Firmware Update (Highly Recommended)

Let me know if you want help accessing the EWS or finding your printer’s IP address. We’ll get your mobile printing back on track.
