I am trying to print from my iPhone to my printer and I’ve never had a problem before. So now I’m going directly through the app and the printers there it’s visible, but the actual print button is not highlighted so it will not give me the ability to print

so I guess this is two fold why it’s not printing from my phone using Wi-Fi even though it says it’s set up and why I can’t print from the app as well.

I have so much to print and this is a new problem

Hi @Margietob,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand you're experiencing difficulties printing from your iPhone despite the printer being visible and connected via Wi-Fi. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issues:

1. Check Wi-Fi Connection

  • Ensure that both your iPhone and printer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
  • Restart your Wi-Fi router and see if the problem persists.

2. Restart Devices

  • Restart your iPhone and the printer. Sometimes a simple restart can resolve connectivity issues.

3. Update Printer Firmware

  • Make sure your printer's firmware is up to date. This can often be done through the printer menu or the printer's Official HP® Support.

4. Update iOS and App

  • Ensure that your iPhone's operating system and the printing app are both updated to the latest versions.

5. Check Printer Status

  • Ensure your printer does not have any error messages or low ink warnings that might prevent printing.
  • Check whether the printer is set to "Online" mode.

6. Use HP App (If applicable)

7. Print a Test Page

  • Check if you can print a test page directly from the printer to ensure it's functioning properly.

8. AirPrint Capability (If applicable)

  • If using AirPrint, make sure your printer supports it and that your iPhone is set correctly.
    • Go to Settings > Wi-Fi on your iPhone and ensure Wi-Fi is enabled and connected to the correct network.

9. Reset Printing System

  • Try resetting the printing system on your iPhone if it continues not to respond.

10. Re-add the Printer

  • Remove the printer from the device's settings and add it again.

    I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
