Hello All,

Hopefully someone can help me. I have an HP Laserjet Pro 1415FNW MFP. I brought this laser printer roughly two years ago. Well, upon installation I setup eprint with a custom printer email address so I can remember it. (eg: myprnter@eprint.com)

Well a few months ago, I had an issue with the printer and had to reset it the printer back to factory defaults so I could reconnect it to my network. During this time I noticed that my eprint Claim code changed on the printer. I didnt worry about it at the time because eprint isnt something I use on a daily basis.

Well tonight I need to resetup the eprint. When I went to the eprint website and logged in, the website told me that the website service is now called HP Connected. The website automactilly transferred my eprint acct over to HP Connected however my printer was not listed on my account anymore. I assumed that this was because I had to factory reset the printer months before and it gave me a new claim code.

Well, long story short, I reconnected my HP laserjet to the new HP Connect website under my account. When I tried to custom the email address back to the old custom email address, the website told me that the email address was aready being used. Any one know how I could reclaim that simple to remember eprint email address?

Hi there, unfortunately it is not currently possible to reuse a customised ePrint email address once a new claim code has been generated for the printer.

Best.

Thank you for the reply. That's not what I wanted to hear but figured what would be the answer. In that case, HP better be wise and have a system in place to auto purge old email addresses no longer in use.

It worked before but has stopped working. It is not prudent for me to change my email address.

HP didn't manage to transfer my printer from hpeprint either, and I had done nothing to it. So the printer doesn't appear in hpconnected as it should. If I print the info page, I don't get a claim code. The good news is that I can still email to the hpeprint address and it works, though for how long for who knows.
