I have just changed my router and now my printer (HP Deskjet 2620) can't be connected to my home network. How can I reconnect the printer to the internet? Pls help.

Thanks in advance.

Hi @TSB1206

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Try these steps -

Network Restore - Press the Wireless button and the Cancel button from the printer control panel at the same time, and then hold them for three seconds.

If the router has a WPS push button, try these steps -

1) Press and hold the Wireless button on the printer for more than three seconds to start WPS push mode. The Wireless light starts blinking.

2) Press the WPS button on your router.

NOTE: THE MOMENT YOU PRESS THE WIRELESS BUTTON ON YOUR PRINTER, WITHIN 30 SECONDS YOU SHOULD PRESS THE WPS BUTTON ON THE ROUTER.

If this step is not successful, then we need to first connect the printer to a computer using a USB and then convert the wired connection to wireless as the printer does not have a control panel to enter the Wi-Fi password.

Please refer to this document for steps.

To connect the printer using your mobile device, refer to the video links for instructions -

Hi Asmita,

Thanks for your response. I tried what you'd suggested and more but nothing worked. I don't have a USB cable since that didn't come with the printer when I bought it. In the end, I had to download the software again, treating the printer like a new buy, and setting it up again. That fortunately worked and now I'm able to use the printer again.

It's just frustrating how the printer didn't detect and connect up to the new router automatically which should've been an easy process. All that was needed should've been to input the new router password. Perhaps HP can look into this flaw?

Thanks for your help.

Regards,

TSB
