HP Deskjet 3632
Mac OS X 10.10 Yosemite

I have just purchased this printer and the print and photocopy functions work fine. However the scan function is not working.

The HP technician who installed it provided me a web archive page to use for scanning. The page is called:

HP DeskJet Ink Advantage 3630 All-in-One Printer series

Embedded Web Server

Although this worked fine when he demonstrated it subsequnetly I get the error message Internal System Error.

Could you please help. I have tried to gt the technician to come back but he has not done so.

Thank you.

Hi there,
Welcome to the HP Community @Pilloo8

I came across your post about the scanning issues you're facing with your Mac running 10.10, scanning from your Deskjet 3632 and wanted to respond with some of my own suggestions.

Troubleshoot the hardware to begin and try a power reset. Also ensure the printer is plugged in directly to a wall outlet.

With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the unit.
Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
Wait at least 15 seconds.
Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the unit.
If the printer does not turn on by itself, press the Power button to turn it on.

Try scanning using the HP software.

If the scanning still does not work, try these steps in order:

  1. Reset the printing system
  2. Repair disk permissions
  3. Restart the Mac
  4. Click this link, download and install HP Easy Start: HP Easy Start
  5. Click this link and try scanning using the different scanning methods: How to Scan to a Mac (OS X)

If you have any troubles with the steps, let me know and I will do my best to help.
