HP Tango X
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi all, hope one of you is able to help me.

I would like to have a secondary HP Smart account to be able to use PrintEverywhere. I registered the HP Tango printer on my own HP Smart account. I am able to print from everywhere via this account, as long as I have an internet connection. To allow a friend to use my printer, I registered a secondary HP Smart account. In the primary HP Smart account I am able to share external access to the printer by adding the email address of a HP Smart user. Hence, I added the email address of the secondary HP Smart account. Unfortunately, the printer does not show up in the secondary HP Smart account. All I get after logging in with the secondary account is window telling me to add a printer by using a printer claim code. This claim code should not be entered, as a printer can only be claimed by one account.

Does anyone know how to be able to print with a secondary HP Smart account? Thank you in advance for the effort.

I think I managed to find a solution. After creating the secondary account, logging in to this account on a PC results in the compulsory addition of a new printer with a claim code. However, when the HP Smart app on a phone is used, no printer is required to be claimed. Hence, on the Android device I was able to search for existing printers on this account. As I had shared the printer with this secondary account, the printer showed up in the app! It took quite some time for show up, more than a minute. Please note: I was on the some wifi the printer is connected to when searching for the printer. After that, printing was also possible when using a different internet connection.

To summarise the process of printer sharing with a different account for a HP Tango X printer:

1. Create a secondary HP account.

2. Share the printer on the primary account by adding the email address.

3. Open HP smart app ON A MOBILE DEVICE and login with the secondary account

4. Search for existing printers in the app. The printer will show up after some time. Potentially it is required for the first time to be connected to the wifi the printer is connected to.
