Hi @yaja1
Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.
Thanks for sharing those details—I'm really sorry you're running into this frustrating connection issue. I truly appreciate that you've already connected your phone to Wi-Fi and have the password ready.
Let’s walk through a few focused steps to get your HP Envy 6000 series printer connected smoothly, both via Wi-Fi Direct and the HP App.
Step 1: Reset the Printer’s Network Settings
This clears any saved Wi-Fi profiles and gives us a clean slate.
- Turn on the printer and wait until it's idle.
- Press and hold the Wireless button and the Cancel button on the printer’s control panel together for 5 seconds.
- The Wi-Fi light will blink—this means the network settings are now reset.
Step 2: Reconnect Using the HP App
Let’s now use the HP App to set up the printer again.
- Open the HP App on your phone.
- Tap “Add Printer” or “Set Up a New Printer.”
- The app should detect your printer in Setup Mode (you’ll see something like “HP-Setup-ENVY-XXXX”).
- Follow the prompts to connect the printer to your Wi-Fi network using the password you already have.
If the printer doesn’t show up, make sure your phone’s Bluetooth and Location Services are turned on, and that you’re within 5 feet of the printer.
Step 3: Try Wi-Fi Direct (Optional)
If you’re trying to print without a router using Wi-Fi Direct:
- Press the Information button (i) on the printer to print a Network Configuration Page.
- Look for the Wi-Fi Direct name and password on that page.
- On your phone, go to Wi-Fi settings and connect to the Wi-Fi Direct name using the password.
- Then open the HP App and try printing.
Step 4: Restart Everything
Sometimes a fresh start helps:
- Restart your phone
- Power cycle the printer (turn it off, wait 10 seconds, turn it back on)
- Reopen the HP App and try again
If you'd like, I can also guide you through the HP App setup page for your printer model. It includes visuals and step-by-step guidance tailored to your region.
Let me know how it goes after these steps. I’m right here to help you get that satisfying moment when your printer finally connects and hums to life.
