Photosmart C4795 & Verizon MiFi 8800L
macOS 10.14 Mojave

I had to upgrade to a new WiFi router. My printer connected to the last one perfectly and worked well until the old WiFi router died.  I've been trying to connect to the new router, MiFi 8800L from Verizon, for the last 3 days.  The printer detects the wireless network and names it, but doesn't connect to it.  The WPS gives an error message.

I've narrowed the problem down to two things.

1. The SSID on the printer is different that the one on the router.

2. I can't change the printer's SSID name.  When trying the USB option, I go into System Preferences > Printers and Scanners > choose the printer > Options and Supplies > Options, the wireless setup option is not there.  I have downloaded and installed the latest printer driver for this printer, and it's just not there to choose.  I know that if I could find that, I could solve my connection problem.  I remember that when I set up the printer with the old WiFi router, that option was there, and I used it to connect the printer to the network.

3. I'm unable to use the IP address for the printer, because the Printer Network Test Report says the IP Address is Not applicable.  In the System Preferences it's listed as Ruth's MacBook Pro.

Can someone help me with this?

Thanks in advance,

Ruth

@RooTahn, Welcome to HP Support Community!

Sure, I can help you with this. Have you tried restoring network defaults on the printer?

If no, I would recommend you to follow the steps from the document HP Printers - No Connection after Router or Wi-Fi Settings Change.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
